Marta Knight says she only wants to make songs to listen to in her bedroom when everyone else is asleep. It all comes together on ‘Peterloo Heroes’, a debut EP that contained five guitar and vocal tracks. Already from those first recordings, you could sense a strong personality as a composer and one of the strengths of her proposal, the proximity of pieces that speak to you with the complicity of someone you’ve known all your life. That confessional tone, that shoulder to lean on, is one of her main charms, but not the only one. That ‘Resurrection’ connected with an audience of millions is explained, in part, by the irresistibility of its hooks and by a melodic aim that proves that we are dealing with an uncommon talent.
