Concert: La Ludwig Band

Prolific, virtuous and carefree are the three adjectives that best define the union between Andreu, Gabriel, Lluc, Quim, Pau and Roger. The group, born in 2017 in Espolla (Alt Empordà), is revolutionizing the Catalan scene thanks to its sharp lyrics and satirical spirit.

After a first album published in the midst of a pandemic, ‘Al límite de la tonalidad’ (The Indian Runners, 2020); with their second album ‘La misma suerte’ (The Indian Runners, 2021) they won the critics’ Enderrock Award for best album of the year and the Cerverí Award for best lyrics in Catalan for ‘Se ha muerto el hombre más viejo de Espolla’ , which consolidates them as one of the most interesting emerging values of the Catalan scene.

They arrived in 2023 with a new album under their belt entitled ‘Gracias por venir’ and if anything stands out, the Ludwig Band is a very prolific group. Created in just over a year, the album enhances the choral spirit of the band with arrangements that rise towards more rock sounds, focused on live, without neglecting the intricate and delicate harmonisations. The lyrics are still the haystack of La Ludwig Band and they find the common point in characters from friendship, work and love.
