FOSS is the musical project of Irene Jódar, composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist, as well as actress. The twin was born in Iceland, in fact FOSS means jump (of water) in Icelandic. Her project starts from the reflection on vital dichotomies: nature/technology, inner world/outer world, organic/synthetic, acoustic/electronic, and from here arises an artistic and sound approach made with great care.
In October, ‘Bioluminescència’, her first work, was published. It has two video clips and a lyric video, made by Aïda Soler, from the production company Injúries i Calúmnies. It was made in cassette format, with recycled plastic and with graphics printed with energy from renewable sources. Live she is accompanied by Roger Cantí, on guitar. Irene’s voice caresses and her speech is intimately linked to this human and atavistic “je n’ai sais quoi”.
